I was thinking whether to announce which country and city I do like the
most. Well, that's quite hard question to answer, but it also depends on the category
of the travel:
- If you want to go somewhere on a SUMMER HOLIDAY in Europe then I can definitely say that
the most beautiful part of the Mediterranean is the Adriatic coast of Croatia - the
popular DALMATIA. That cost used to be my domestic one (one upon a history when the former
SFR Yugoslavia existed!) so I still have the habit of calling it a "domestic
coast" - no offence to the Croatian friend who might read this!!! The water is
absolutely pure and warm enough; the beaches are mostly rocky but you can also find sandy
beaches and in many places, especially in the magnificent islands, you can enjoy the
beauty of the untouched nature. But in order not to make this a presentation of Croatia, I
also recommend you to visit the Ohrid Lake in Macedonia, where you can enjoy not only in
the natural beauties, but also in the large offer of historical and cultural sites.
- If you are interested in my opinion which is the most beautiful EUROPEAN CITY,
in the past I would have said Amsterdam. Today I would immediately
finger-point at the Catalan capital BARCELONA. The city is incredible. Not only but
the extraordinary architecture and Mediterranean spirit, but also by the life you can experience over there.
It is a magic mixture of north and south. If you still haven't
been over there, then grab your first chance and visit Barcelona. Following
Barcelona and Amsterdam, I immediately
put Prague and the wonderful Copenhagen, Denmark. It seems that you can have party over
there all of the time. But take care - the beauty of the Danish girls can turn your head
upside down. After Copenhagen my Top 10 list follows by this preference: Stockholm
(Sweden), Paris (France), Rome (Italy), Munich (Germany), London
(England, UK), Brussels (Belgium), Vienna (Austria), Budapest (Hungary),
Vilnius (Lithuania).... But it's interesting there are two cities
where I would move immediately and live (if I have that chance) - Barcelona
and Brussels!
- And now the decision on the favorite EUROPEAN COUNTRY is on agenda. Wow, this is
absolutely the most difficult question. But let's say that is LUXEMBURG. Immediately
next to the Grand Duchy I would put the Netherlands. The Netherlands are followed by
Croatia, "bella Italia", then Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Catalonia and so on. The mianland
Greece is nothing particular but the coast and the Aegean archipelago makes me put Greece
on this list. Ufff, I would have almost forgotten Switzerland - that's one of my favorite
countries, too.
